Health begins with awareness

Why should we only tell people about their options once they are already experiencing health problems?

At Health Connectors, we believe taking ownership of your health starts much earlier.

In primary school.
In secondary school.
In further education.

Actually, from the moment you begin learning how to consciously take care of yourself and your health.

Not by telling children and young people which type of care they should choose. And not by overwhelming them with information about every option that exists.

But by giving them a different perspective on health:

Health is not something you only need to pay attention to when you are ill or experiencing symptoms. It is part of everyday life.

By becoming more aware of how you feel, what you need and what influence you can have on your own health, you may be able to recognise changes earlier and take action sooner.

Early awareness can make a real difference, especially when it comes to lifestyle. Movement, nutrition, sleep, relaxation, mental health and other lifestyle factors can all play an important role in how someone feels and functions.

And when health concerns do arise, it is important not to keep pushing through for too long, but to seek support in time.

That is why we want Health Connectors to become known at an early stage.

As a place where people can gain an overview of the possibilities available within healthcare and health support. A place where they can discover what is out there, without us deciding what the right choice is for them.

Because we believe in a society where people not only know where to turn when something goes wrong, but also learn to pay attention to their health before it gets to that point.

That is why we would love to connect with primary schools, secondary schools, vocational and higher education institutions, and other educational organisations that want to give health and health literacy a meaningful place within education.

Together, we can help ensure that the next generation not only knows that support is available, but also understands that there are possibilities to take an active role in their own health.
